For about two-thirds of this mind-frazzlingly dull film, we are led to believe that the "fallen" of the title refers to this resurgent army. The good ones are the Autobots and they are on our side the bad ones are the Decepticons, defeated in the first movie, but now intent once more on crushing Earth. Once again, we are in the world of the Transformers, and again the star is Shia LaBeouf: allegedly a Tom Hanks for the future. And at two and a half hours, it really is very long. I found it at once loud and boring, like watching paint dry while getting hit over the head with a frying pan.
